WEB PROGRAMMER
Buffalo State College
Responsibilities
Responsible for developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining database-based applications, forms, and other interactive applications featured on/connected to the college's official Web site. Work closely and regularly with the College Relations Web team on data integration, customization, and display. Provide campus template users with content management system technical support.
Required Qualifications
Proficiency developing advanced, easy-to-use database-driven applications using PHP and SQL; experience developing applications that operate consistently on multiple platforms and browsers; ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment; completion of some college-level coursework; two years related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; experience working in an Oracle environment; technical support experience; experience working in a higher education environment; basic Windows and/or Unix server administration experience; three years related work experience; familiarity with W3C Web Accessibility Guidelines/Section 508; familiarity with ASP, Perl, PL/SQL, Oracle 9i or above, XML/XHTML, CSS, SOAP, or Javascript.

SENIOR MAJOR GIFTS/PLANNED GIFTS OFFICER

Responsibilities:
The Senior Major Gifts/Planned Gifts Officer is responsible for managing a portfolio of approximately 150 prospects and donors with the capacity to make gifts of $10,000 and up for restricted and unrestricted funds. The incumbent is responsible for identifying new prospects, cultivating potential contributors, developing solicitation strategies and identifying gift opportunities to match donor interests. He/she will be assigned to an academic school within the College and will work closely with respective volunteers, alumni, faculty and dean; providing direct fundraising counsel for the latter. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, able to take initiative, and work effectively in a team environment.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree. Progressively successful individual major gift fundraising experience. Proven success in prospecting and soliciting gifts/closing major gifts/sales. This position requires excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills and strong attention to detail. Some travel is required and occasionally, weekend and evening work may be necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in higher education or other complex organization fund-raising database. Demonstrated commitment to an organization with similar mission as Buffalo State College. Mission statement can be found on our website at www.buffalostate.edu.

DIRECTOR OF ALUMNI RELATIONS

OVERVIEW OF POSITION
The Director of Alumni Relations is a key member of the Division of Advancement leadership team who is responsible for helping to achieve the goal of increasing the engagement and support of our College’s 70,000+ proud alumni. Building friendships and philanthropic relationships with alumni and donor prospects will be key components in our efforts to secure private support to advance the Mission of The College at Brockport.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Alumni Relations reports directly to the Vice President for Advancement and is responsible for developing and maintaining a strategic direction for a growing alumni relations program in partnership with leadership volunteers, Advancement colleagues and other key College leaders.
The Director will be charged with inspiring an already engaged alumni community through creative events, programming, publications and communication, including but not limited to:
• Homecoming
• Reunion(s)
• Local, regional and national alumni events
• The Electronic Newsletter
• Alumni Survey/Directory
• Correspondence with alumni (new jobs, changes in employment, grievances, etc.)
• Assisting the Advancement Services area with all Banner related alumni and data management needs
• Assisting Development staff with the Senior Challenge and other smaller scale fund raising functions, such as reunion, fund raising projects for Alumni House, etc.
Providing executive leadership to the Alumni Association’s Board of Directors, the Director also will serve as Executive Director of the Brockport Alumni Association (BAA), directing development of special programming initiatives for young alumni; overseeing and managing all BAA committees; coordinating BAA participation in Commencement, Senior Week activities, Alumni House rental, upkeep and management, open houses and other on-campus functions; establishing annual operating plans and budgets; and working with all alumni and campus constituencies to build a community and enhance diversity and inclusion.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree with professional work experience
• Demonstrated ability to work in a complex institutional environment
• Passionate about and possess interpersonal and relationship-building skills to be applied to interactions with a broad range of donors, prospects and their professional advisors, principal and leadership gift officers, vice-presidents, deans and executive directors.
• The ability to succeed while assuming increasing levels of responsibility and while managing multiple major projects.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills, computer proficiency and the ability to travel.
• Experience with and the ability to work with a culturally diverse population
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Three to five years management experience in alumni relations, fund raising, or other client-centered field programs similar in scale to The College at Brockport’s alumni relations program.
• Master’s degree in business, higher education administration, public relations or related field
• Experience working within higher education or a related environment
